Discord does not report a headcount. Its IPO registration, filed confidentially in January 2026 according to Bloomberg, has not been made public.

The two numbers use different methods, so they are shown side by side rather than merged. Reddit, a listed peer, reported 2,555 employees at December 31, 2025, and Reddit’s filed and modeled headcounts show how far the two methods can sit apart.

Quarterly Discord Employee Count Since 2023
Revelio’s series peaked at 2,821 in Q2 2023. It reached a low of 2,387 in Q4 2025, then recorded 2,402 in Q1 2026.
The count fell from 2,730 in Q4 2023 to 2,550 in Q1 2024, the quarter that included the January layoff.

170 Jobs Cut in January 2024
Discord confirmed on January 11, 2024, that it was laying off 170 employees, or 17% of its workforce. It had eliminated about 40 jobs in August 2023.

A WARN notice covered 160 workers tied to the San Francisco headquarters, with a February 2, 2024 exit date. Engineers, trust and safety staff, product managers and data scientists were on the list.
Laid-off staff received five months of severance and benefits, plus one extra week of pay per year of service.

North America holds just over half of the modeled workforce. South Asia is second at 15.2%.
What Discord’s Careers Page Says
Discord lists two offices, San Francisco and Amsterdam. It hires full-time staff only in the US, Canada (Ontario and British Columbia) and the Netherlands.
Roles in other countries run through Pebl as employer of record. Discord hires most roles in the San Francisco Bay Area but states there is no requirement to work from the office, a setup tracked in wider remote and hybrid work data.

Engineering Holds 37.8% of Discord’s Workforce
Finance and Operations is the largest group in Revelio’s model at 42.6%, or 1,012 people. Engineering counts 899 and Sales and Marketing 467.

Active postings fell from 60 in 2023 to 52 in 2024, then rose to 104 in 2025 and 128 in 2026. Revelio’s 2026 figure reflects data as of March.
Discord opened 479 new postings in 2025, about 40 a month. Q1 2026 brought 110 new postings, a pace Revelio puts at 37 a month.
